The MVI56 universal ASCII Ethernet interface module is designed to allow Controll-ogix processors to easily interface with ASCII devices using the TCP/IP protocol. Compatible devices may be other ASCII devices with built-in Ethernet or connected to existing ASCII devices through thin servers. There are five servers and clients on the module, allowing processors and connected devices. The single slot-1756 backplane is compatible with this module, which is recognized as an input/output module and can access processor memory for data transmission and modules between processors. Ladder logic is used for data transmission between modules and processors. Includes examples of ladder diagram files.
